The Deschutes River is Oregon's number one river for whitewater rafting and water fighting! Located in sage brush plateau hills, the Deschutes River meanders between the cliffs making it an oasis for animal life. Challenge "Boxcar", :Elevator", "Oak Springs", and more. Swim a rapid and take a hike to the White River lava tubes. This river has it all from fishing to swimming, white water to calm. Replenish your soul and become a kid again. Ideal for veteran river runners, newcomers and families. All in sunny north central Oregon.
The Deschutes River all day trip starts at 10:00 am at Sandy Beach (where we leave your car). We provide you with rafts, paddles and lifejackets and the best guides. The trip incudes a riverside lunch and exits the river about 2:30 to 3:00 depending on how much fun you are having.
Because of the warm weather and water, we do not usually provide wetsuits for this sunny location but can provide them if you request it.
Deschutes is a french word for rapids and it delivers. Several class 3 rapids and one class 4 rapid. On a scale of wild to mild the Deschutes River is great fun in the sun for all ages and a bit on the mild side.
Overnight camping / rafting tours on the Deschutes consisting of two to three days or more are available to you. We put in farther up stream from the day float and included four to six meals. Fantastic fishing at camp, while we prepare grourmet river cuisine.
A minimum of five to six paddlers are required for an overnight trip.
Best for White Water Rafting June - September. Good for ages 5 / 6 to 82.
Make it a whitewater weekend. The Deschutes River on Saturday and then the White Salmon River on Sunday!
